AWBRIDGE & DISTRICT VILLAGE ASSOCIATION (ADVA)

Runs the ADVA 100 Club (see below), which in turn funds the monthly Awbridge News and other events or amenities considered beneficial for the village and district. Monthly meetings held at committee member ’ s houses. CONTACT: Mr Fred Tucker (Chairman), Awbridge 340709.

ADVA 100 CLUB

A lottery with members paying an annual subscription to enter a draw, prizes are dependent upon the number of members participating. (Prizes are currently £12, £15 and £20, with two draws per year for £100.) The remaining money funds ADVA ’ s activities (see above). Cost of membership is £12 per person, per year. AWBRIDGE & DISTRICT VILLAGE HALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Village Hall and playing fields. Meetings held on the first Monday in every month at 8.00 pm, normally at members ’ homes. CONTACT: Tim Bizzey, 2 The Beeches, Saunders Lane, Awbridge 341863.

AWBRIDGE COUNTY PRIMARY SCHOOL

AWBRIDGE FRIENDSHIP CLUB

Regular meetings held to enjoy conversation, guest speakers, games, visits, etc. on 1 st and 3 rd Thursday in every month, 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm at the Village Hall (suitable for wheelchair access). Cost £2.50 per year. CONTACT: Mrs Pragnell (Secretary), 02380 731669.

AWBRIDGE GARDENING CLUB

Meetings held on the second Wednesday in each month at 7.30 pm at the Village Hall. During the winter we have talks and in the summer we visit local gardens. £5.00 per year. Plus donations for garden visits. CONTACT: Eileen Henderson, Claydon, Carters Clay Road, Lockerley 340082 (evenings).

AWBRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

AWBRIDGE EVENING W.I.

Meetings held on the 2 nd Thursday of each month at 7.30 pm at the Village Hall, usually with a speaker or demonstration. Membership cost £17.25 per year. New members always welcome. CONTACT: Secretary Frances Hanks, Lockerley 01794

AWBRIDGE NEIGHBOURCARE

Awbridge Neighbourcare has been set up to provide a safety net of care for residents in Awbridge and neighbouring areas such as Newton, Carters Clay and Stanbridge Earls. If you need help with transport to medical or other appointments or would like someone to visit you, help with shopping, dog walking, collecting prescriptions or other small tasks then contact 0845 094 6155 to talk to your local coordinator. MICHELMERSH SILVER BAND

Senior Band and Junior Band playing a wide range of brass band music, with a varied programme of public engagements every year. Band practice: Monday and Friday at W.I. Hall, Timsbury: Junior Band: Friday 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Senior Band: Monday and Friday 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm. £12.00 per annum for Senior Band only. NINE LIVES CAT RESCUE

Rescues stray, abandoned and unwanted cats or kittens, with the aim of re-homing them in suitable homes. Homes throughout Southampton, Romsey and Winchester, while the cats await new homes – this is not a shelter and there are only limited facilities on site.7 days a week, 9.00 am – 9.00 pm. DUNWOOD MANOR GOLF CLUB

In addition to an 18 hole, par 68 golf course, with 5 or 7-day membership, villagers may also be interested in social membership. This entitles members to use clubhouse facilities (bar and restaurant) – regardless of whether or not they play golf. TEST VALLEY CROQUET CLUB

Golf Croquet and Association Croquet. April – September at Hunts Farm Sports ground, Timsbury.
