We had a lovely celebration in May to dedicate our 14 newly made kneelers, in church, to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, thank you again for providing the church with a lasting memory of the celebrations. Those of you who are craft minded might be interested in the suggestion of running a craft session in the village see below.

On a sunny Sunday in June we enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea at the home of Sarah and Ian Keith and donations of over £200 were made for the tree nursery project in our link diocese of S Rwenzori in Uganda, thank you for all the support for this valuable project aiding agricultural and forestry projects in their local communities.

Wildlife Walk and Picnic on Friday 5 July: For those of you interested in local wildlife and conservation do come to our walk and picnic , 6 30 pm start at village hall, for a walk round the Awbridge Wildlife Sanctuary with Bryan Raines followed by a picnic supper at the village hall. Free Event – BYO picnic and drinks, water bottles for collecting for Turn on the Tap available.

BBQ with First Responders on Friday 19 July, 6 30 pm at the village hall (see separate advert). Please come and enjoy the BBQ, bring your own drinks, & 2 litre plastic bottles for water rockets. Tickets available from James Alexander or Marion Gray (First Responders) or sign the list in church by Tuesday 16 July. Water bottles for collecting for Turn on the Tap available.

Turn on the Tap: If you would like to collect for TOTT please collect an empty water bottle from Choice Plants, Timsbury or All Saints, Awbridge, bottles will also be available at the wildlife walk on 5 July and BBQ on 19 July please collect coins and complete the gift-aid label on the back and hand to a member of Awbridge church in time for our Harvest service on Sunday 22 September. First: our First service in June was all about the Holy Spirit working in the church community and our next one on Sunday 7 July 6 30pm will be looking at God of all Creation following our wildlife walk on 5 July.

Messy Church: autumn dates for your diary: Sunday 13 October 2 30 pm Awbridge village hall and Sunday 24 November 2 30 pm Jubilee Hall, Timsbury.

Craft sessions: knit and natter group – we are thinkiing about setting up such a group for the village either in the church rooms or committee room of the village hal,l if anyone would be interested in getting involved please contact Mary Savage 01794 367908 or email: savage@choiceplants.freeserve.co.uk.
This could also act as a group who could put together shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
